A couple of squally showers but otherwise quite pleasant conditions.

Welcome to new member Philip Cooper who made his debut today and congratulations to David Frith and Tommy Neilly for their winning 37 and 36 points respectively  and also scooping the last credits pool with Tommy's accumulated 28.5 and David's 21.2 credits.

Starting next week everyone who tees off puts £1 in the kitty in the lounge and we revert to our very popular handicapping system. We start with the Laurie Carrick trophy with winner and runner up losing 2 and 1 shots respectively.

Our long serving (suffering) barmaid Helen is unfortunately having to retire next Wednesday and members have already made very generous individual donations for us to present her with. Please add to the fund on Thursday or next Tuesday.

Simon informs us that the Pro's shop will only be staffed by one person and asks us to be patient if they are called out to sort out buggies etc. I recommend we each collect a few cards to keep in our bags.

More importantly we will be returning part way to the original funding and handicapping on the first Tuesday in August. Entries and draw will continue via Joe as at present but entry pounds must be deposited in the lounge on completion of round. If you tee off you owe the kitty a pound and cash will be split 60/40 between first and second.. Even more important we are reverting to the Sandpiper handicapping system and the sheet pinned on the notice board.
