The majority of today's twenty players excelled at the mediocre in today's breezy conditions with Tommy Neilly's 35 points putting Ian Hind into second place with 33.

Thursday 21st May

The strong wind made the front nine difficult. Fifteen played with David Low's 37 points enough to win and myself second with 36, just scraping in on the back six.

Tuesday 19th May

Another windy day with a brief shower of sleet thrown in for the Sowerby Trophy competition.
Ivor Nelson won with 40 points followed by David Low with 37. Only sixteen turned out, possibly because playing two consecutive days seemed a bit too much.

Workington Match Result

Today's 4 - 4 draw ended an eleven year drought as it was 2004 since the Sandpipers held the Shank's Trophy played over home and away legs. Captain Brian Taylor led the troops in weather that improved as the day went on.
Thank you to everyone who has enquired about Irene's health and I'm pleased to report that the surgery seems to be a complete success.
