Tuesday 16th July

The day started with a "formal" presentation by Arthur Thompson to Owen Swift who gracefully accepted a set of L plates and a tingling bell for his new ride on buggy. If that wasn't exciting enough, the professional warned us that due to forecast lightning he may blow the claxon instructing us to leave the course or shelter in the METAL sheds. Fortunately the weather over Silloth was perfect and 22 registered to play in the Stableford. Steve Whitehead took the honours with 37 points and Owen Swift took second with 34 points, beating Peter Taylor on a count back.

Thursday 11th July

What a pleasure to be playing in warm sunshine for most of the round and NO rain for all of the round!  22 competed in the 4th round of the Summer League. Two players shone with 36 points, Steve Whitehead taking it on the countback from Terry Bunn.                                                                                            

Next Tuesday will be set up on the system as a stand alone Sandpipers Tuesday Stableford.

 John Eilbeck Trophy 2024

10 entered this years competition on a wet and windy July day. Our winner this year with 34 points Owen Swift (onboard the his new Electric Blue Swiftmobile), with Eddie Varah second also on 34 points, losing on countback. Well done Owen good win and nice to see you on the road to recovery.

Sandpipers v Seascale Result

Recording for posterity again a good 6 - 2 win in trying conditions. I had to wait ten minutes before I could make it from the garage back to the house because of driving rain.
