This is our last match of the season and so far we have lost 5 away games out of 5 !!!

Thursday 11th August

Another scorcher with cloudless skies for the twenty two players to enjoy. David Low won with 40 points and myself second with 39.

Next Tuesday is the J Banks stableford qualifier, Thursday the course is closed for the seniors' open and the following Tuesday the R Saunders Trophy.

Brian has requested those holding trophies please return them asap for engraving.

Sandpipers v Penrith Result

A disappointing 3.5 - 4.5 defeat today but the glorious conditions made it worth turning out. Everyone sat outside afterwards and nobody seemed to miss the lack of catering. 

We had six changes to the original team selection for various reasons so it would help Joe if those who do not normally put their names forward would append their names to the sheet, indicating they would be prepared to step in as a reserve if required. 

Carrick Trophy Result

Martin Fouracre continued his winning streak with 40 points in the face of a strong west wind (25 - 23) with second placed David Low five points behind (18 - 17). Only fifteen played probably due to the poor forecast. This Thursday the course is closed for the UK Seniors Open and next Tuesday is our home match against Penrith.

Thursday 28th July

Perhaps the poor forecast kept people away but the eighteen that turned up enjoyed mostly pleasant conditions. Martin Fouracre's 39 took first place (29 - 25) and Tony Davis' best of three 38's (18 - 15) came second.

Next Thursday the Club hosts the UK Seniors Open.

R Thompson Trophy Result

Congratulations to Eddie Varah and Phillip Curran for their nett 65 and 66 scores respectively from a field of twenty five. 

Back to stableford qualifying competition next Tuesday for the Carrick Memorial Trophy and commiserations to Clive and Gilmour who have both gone down with the bug.
