Looks like I won't be around for a few days after having tested positive this morning. Don't feel too ill, just chesty and no appetite so hopefully back soon.

Thursday 23rd June

Another real summer's day for twenty five players to enjoy. Gilmour McKellar excelled with 42 points (15 - 9) and in form Peter Taylor second with 36 (7 - 5).

Congratulations to sandpiper Andy Edwards for his hole in one on the twelfth and appreciation for his generosity paying for a drink for everyone that came into the lounge.

Brampton Match Result

An excellent day with good company, a well manicured course and good food at a very reasonable price. Unfortunately it was a reversal of our home score with a 3 - 5 loss. Our next matches are against Seascale 7th July and away against Workington 11th July. Sheets for players who wish to play are on the notice board.

Anderson 5 Clubs Result

Peter Taylor celebrated his birthday with an excellent 40 points win (9 - 7) edging out Jim Shaw on countback (23 - 22). Four players handicaps increased and twenty six took part in fairly calm conditions. 

Brampton Slope Rating

For anyone who wants to calculate their handicap to play the yellow tees in our match at Brampton on Wednesday, the yellow tee rating is 138 which means several of us receive an extra shot. This will be amended assuming Brampton wish to use the 90% rule and both calculations will be on the team sheets available on the day. Our stroke allowances are correct as of today at 4pm.

Sandpipers v Powfoot Result

Another good result with a 4.5 - 3.5 win in very favourable weather conditions. 

Next Tuesday is the Anderson 5 Clubs  competition and Wednesday our away match against Brampton.
