It's been a long time since somebody's score cost them six shots but Joe Campbell managed that today with 43 points, closely followed by Ian Porter with 42 and a five shot adjustment. Eighteen played in good conditions that cooled towards the end.

Tuesday 17th March

Joe Holmes won the first trophy of the season with an impressive +5 bogey score and the Bernard Keighley Cup ahead of a field of twenty six. Conditions were ideal.
David Low had the better back nine of the +3 runners up.
Next Tuesday is reserved for the rearranged Texas Scramble and the following Tuesday is our first home match of the season against Penrith. Two tee times have been booked around 10.30am for non team members who would like to have a game amongst themselves.

Tuesday 10th March

The sun brought twenty four out today topped by Charles Woodhouse with 38 points followed by Ivor Nelson on 36.
John Tudor informs me that David McCrum's spectacular two on the 16th is well worth a mention.
Also those wishing to be considered for our first three matches should add their names to the lists on the notice board.

Texas Scramble

This month's postponed Texas Scramble has been rearranged for Tuesday 24th March.
Hopefully we will have a good turnout, and a reminder that the Bernard Keighley competition is scheduled for next Tuesday in the Bogey format.

Thursday 5th March

A chilly SW draught kept all seventeen players moving today. Geoff Waite came out on top with 39 points followed by Harry Wright with 34.

Tuesday 3rd March

Not enough turned up to make the Texas Scramble official but nine of us went out and played to the same format in cold and windy conditions.
Our committee will choose another suitable date for the competition.
The Sandpipers' reserved tee start time reverted to 11.00am on the 1st of March.
