Tuesday 30th April

A good turnout in near perfect conditions for the G.Doughty Trophy.
Our regular winner Ian Porter won with 40 points on a back six count back from David Low with Joe Campbell just squeezed into the unpaid third spot.
Next Tuesday is our away match against Seascale.

Thursday 25th April

Only twelve set out in light drizzle which soon cleared.
Tom Neilly was a clear winner with 37 points and Brian Taylor second.
Next Tuesday is the George Doughty Cup, a handicap qualifying stableford competition which isn't shown in the club diary.

Tuesday 23rd April

Twelve pairs set out in blustery conditions to compete for the John Cooper Trophy. Geoff Scott and Charles Woodhouse (with an outrageous 2 on the 16th) did enough to take first place with 57 points.
Silloth GC is hosting a "Help for Heroes" charity open competition on Monday August 26th, and with the approval of all those approached, the Sandpipers will be sponsoring two holes. Anyone wishing to enter a team should see Simon Parry with the entry fee of £100.
The Pals Invitation Golf Society (formed in 2003 from a core of Sandpipers aka The PIGS) is also sponsoring a hole.

Carlisle Match Result

A brutal south westerly made competing difficult but Silloth came through 5.5 - 2.5.
Joe is still one name short for our forthcoming away match against Seascale.
