Carlisle Match Result

Our away match resulted in a 5.5 - 2.5 defeat and disappointingly the Squirrels couldn't raise a full team.
Captain Trevor Wilson did note that the only pairings to save a whitewash were Saxons.
On that note, I'm informed that Alan Proud has proclaimed himself captain for the 2012 S v C match.
This is excellent news as Alan brings with him qualifications for the job that few of us have ever heard of.

Ellis Beattie Trophy

Rather less entries than usual, but an excellent 47 points from Norma Pearson and Harry Wright puts their names on the trophy for this year.
The Terry Walters Cup has been rearranged for Tuesday 27th September.

Sandpiper Championship

Today I was lucky enough to win this coveted title for 2011 and commiserations to Terry Stubbs as runner up.
For everyone's information I wish to make the customary donation of the entry fees to Allonby First Responders to help them carry on with the invaluable assistance they provide locally.

Tuesday 6th September

A howling gale accompanied by squally showers caused only Tony Davis, Roger Cutts and myself of the thirteen entries to complete the eighteen holes (possibly due to a loss of balls by the other ten).
Tony is to be commended for scoring 25 points to win the Bob Saunders Trophy as well as for his amazing turn of speed chasing his runaway trolley on the 15th.
I just managed to squeeze Roger into third place.
Thursday's stableford will start 10 minutes late due to a booking error by the Club.
