Thursday 19th Dec 2024

The sun shone all day for the 22 who played in round 3 of the winter League However it was a serious problem as it was extremely difficult, at times, to follow your shot in its direction. The eventual winner and second place were in the last fourball but with clear skies there was no problem with fading light.    Brian Taylor won with 38 points and Tony Gerbino was second with 36. Our normal Sandpiper tee-times are available next Tuesday ( Christmas Eve ) for those who do not have last minute shopping to do.

Thursday 12th Dec

Round 2 of the Winter League. The sun was shining on this very chilly day making our round on full greens enjoyable as ever. The man that enjoyed it most was Howard Foster with 35 points and Brian Taylor second with 34 after a countback. We were reminded before we teed off that fairway mats were to be used on all “closely mown “ areas as well as fairways.

Thanks to Eddie Varah for supplying us with a refreshment to celebrate his birthday.

Tuesday 10th Dec 24

A bright sunny start turned into a very chilly finish for the 18 players who competed today. Winning with 35 points was Tim Herbert and second ( on countback ) with 34 points was Eddie Varah. These points totals did not include the 8th hole which we entered as Not Started (NS) due to the temporary  green in place.

Thursday 5th Nov 24

The annual Bottle Trot took place today although the threat of wind and rain kept several off the course, attending the Christmas meal only. The winning team were Howard Foster, Martin Fouracre and Dave Atherton.

Tuesday 3rd Dec 2024

21 played today in the rearranged Winter Thursday League. The weather permitted us to play on the full course although the cool, cloudy day meant that the last group played the 18th in very poor light even though it was only 3.30 pm. Two scores stood well above the pack with Grant Anderson ( welcome back) second with 38 points and Eddie Varah first with an impressive 40 points. The bottle trot is set to be played this Thursday 5th Dec with a 9.00 am start time followed by Christmas Lunch.
