Following a recent committee meeting it was agreed to remind all Sandpipers of our Draw Rules.
Sandpiper Draw Rules
Extract from our rules and regulations:
'Currently 14 competitions are held each year which are Named Trophy
Qualifying Competitions, played off WHS handicaps and rules, and entered
through the computer system as qualifying for WHS handicapping purposes.
These qualifying competitions are played as 3-balls unless numbers exceed 24
members, in which case, 4-balls are played. All competitions are drawn 10 minutes before tee-off on the morning of the
competition. Late entry is allowed at the back of the draw.’
For clarity:
1. The draw should be made by the Handicap Secretary, or failing that, by any
other member of the Committee present.
2. The draw should be made such that the available tee times are efficiently
used.
The 10-minute tee slot should be adhered to where appropriate.
3. The draw must not be made more than 10 minutes before the first tee time.
4. If, as a result of a high turnout, we are able to use the 10.50 tee-time, then a
preliminary draw will be made to draw out the first 4-ball only from the balls
already in the draw. All other balls remain in the bag for the usual draw at the
usual time.
