Tuesday 28th February

A biting cold wind from the east for the thirty three who took part today. 39 points wasn't enough for Philip Curran to win (23 - 20), that place went to John Wraight  with 40 (11 - 6).
Good to see Joe Penrice back in action but unfortunately Ian Porter doesn't feel fit enough to play so has given up his club membership.

New Result Sheet

If you check the link in the margin for 'Weekly Result Sheet' it's been updated to start afresh with many playing below their yellow tee handicaps. These are correct as of today and several have been adjusted following cards submitted for handicap yesterday.

Thursday 23rd February

Welcome to another new member Tim Brockbank who made the numbers up to twenty five playing today. Serial winner Dave Atherton must have thought he was in with a chance scoring 42 points (18 - 13) but Jim Shaw had other ideas with 43 (28 - 22).

Tuesday 21st February

A day for John Parker to remember, not for the cold blustery conditions but for his winning 42 points (26 - 20) and the other twenty five players helping him to celebrate another birthday. Martin Fouracre came second with 38 (26 - 23).
Those who remember Edward Harle will be sorry to learn that he has resigned his club membership due to mobility problems but sends his regards to everybody. Bob Finlinson's electric PowaCaddy is playing up and he would like to purchase a second hand trolley if there is one laying unused anywhere.

Thursday 16th February

Gordon Shaw joined us today as another new member making it thirty who played in cold and windy conditions. Gilmour McKellar took first prize with 36 points (17 - 14) and Gerry Fisher second with 35 (11 - 10).
Willie Smith tried playing off the green tees today and has decided to join Joe in making this his permanent choice. The slope index, reduced handicap, no par fives and added long par threes levels up the pleasure in being able to reach fairways from the tee.

Monday 13th February, 8am - 5pm. Closed from Allonby to past Salta  Road end for putting in a road crossing connecting the coastal path.

Tuesday 31st January

Nineteen turned up but I chickened out due to the cold and windy conditions. Of the remaining eighteen Tim Herbert and Bob Finlinson both scored 28 points, Tim winning on the back nine. Five of those who played got two shots each back.
Jim Gilfillan has been in touch and advises he is recovering well from his operation and looks forward to starting back soon.
