Seascale Match Information

All Sandpiper home matches will be played off 90% of a competitor's stroke allowance for the tee of the day. The arrangements at Seascale are the same. All players should know their current WHS stroke index and be able adjust it to the Seascale slope then reduce to 90%.

There will be tea/coffee before start, but must sit in tables of 4 maximum

Following the game, sit in tables of 4 with playing partners, order taken at table and payment taken by waiting staff by cash or card. 

After finishing their meal players may leave.

Charles is hosting a National Garden Scheme charity event on Sunday 6th June, Quarry Hill House, Boltongate.

Sandpipers will be particularly welcome and free drink was mentioned (not sure if that was all afternoon).

I forgot to mention that following yesterday's result Tony Davis' Sandpiper handicap is now 15 and Ian Hind's 26. Clive Milburn goes up to 17.

Also to mention that Gary Blackley had a bionic knee op yesterday and Eddie Varah is in hospital. I'm sure we all wish them well and a speedy recovery.

Sandpiper Handicap Qualifying Competitions

Further to a recent edict from England Golf, handicap allowances through the WHS touchscreen for Qualifying Competitions will be reduced to 95%. for our yellow tees Trophy Competitions.

No calculation is required from the competitor, the programme adjusts the score automatically.

One other important thing to remember is that if you fail to record the number of shots on a hole enter NR on the touchscreen. DO NOT ENTER NS.

Joe is still one player short for our match at Seascale and therefore can't complete the team selection. Please add your name to the notice board list if you are available.

Congratulations to Stephen Buck taking the trophy with 39 points in better conditions than we've enjoyed for a while.

Time is marching on for arranging championship ties and just to recap the rules:

• The first name is the challenger and in the absence of being able to arrange a mutually agreeable date should give his opponent three dates with not more than two in the same week.
• Failure to comply by either the challenger or opponent before the play-by date will result in the non compliant party being disqualified.
