Back in Business 13th April

Commencing Tuesday 13th April there will be the opportunity each month for both winner and runner up each Tuesday and Thursday to accumulate points and win £15 for the highest total and £10 for second.
Points will be allocated 60/40 of the number of players on the day (ie 20 players, winner 12 points, second 8 points).
Email Joe by 6.00pm Sunday for Tuesday and 6.00pm Tuesday for Thursday entries.
Each group should agree one person to email Harry Wright with all the scores.
To see Joe and Harry's email address's click here.
The yellow tee slope index stroke allowance will be used.
Winners will lose 2 shots, runners up 1 shot. Points, adjusted handicaps and number of players will be published here.
There is no financial contribution to make, all cash to be paid from our funds.
It is important that Harry is informed of all the scores on the evening of play.
Please raise any queries at our comp on Tuesday 13th.

Getting Started Again

Hopefully we will soon get our Tuesday and Thursday slots back and can start our monthly prize competitions again. In anticipation, you can click here to view your Golf England handicap and slope index stroke allowance for the Silloth yellow tees.
Please ensure you have paid your Sandpiper subs before joining in.
Any queries should be raised with the Club secretary.

Moving Forward

Things are becoming clearer and our web site has been updated www.sunside.co.uk/sandpipers
Unfortunately we are currently unable to arrange any interclub matches but plans are afoot to enable us to complete our own competitions which we can't do until our time slot is reinstated by the Club committee. Should things go according to plan we will also use the Cooper Trophy competition on 13th April for entries in our championship qualifier. Joe has volunteered to carry on doing the draw from email entries and after sterilisation publish the results. He is now allegedly bomb proof after having both jabs.
Circumstances may unfortunately have to revise our plans but keep your fingers crossed.

Not Long Now

Hopefully we will hear soon from the Club's committee the arrangements that will enable us to get back on the course. Presumably it will be four balls in the same format as our return after the first lockdown but not much chance of the Sandpipers' allocated hour being reinstated immediately.
Just to let those who travel from Maryport to Silloth know that several deep potholes have developed north of Allonby, enough to cause wheel damage if hit too hard.
