Tuesday 23rd June
Only fourteen turned out for the Walters' Greensomes Cup today which the pairing of John Dixon and David McCrum won with 42 points.
Both Tommy Neilly and Ian Porter are back home and doing well following surgery and Roy Williams managed to play today.
Unfortunately, Willie Smith hasn't recovered yet after falling due to a loose manhole cover and John Tudor tells me he is having a replacement hip installed tomorrow followed by knee surgery at some future date. We wish you both well. At the next AGM we should consider a bionic section.

Surgery Updates
Tommy Neilly's and Ian Porter's surgery have been successfully completed and looking forward to good outcomes. I understand Roy Williams is rather more comfortable now but John Tudor's joints are giving him too much gyp to play golf at the moment.

Powfoot Match Result
Our inaugural home match against Powfoot Otters didn't get off to the most auspicious start, with us having to lend them two players to make up their team and a Sandpiper phoning from Powfoot wondering when the rest of us were going to turn up.
Anyway, everything worked out in the end and a satisfactory result of a 6 - 2 win played in bright warm sunshine, the course in good condition and topped off with a good meal.
Captain Grant Anderson lead from the front.
We look forward to the return match in July.
Next Thursday is our HOME against Brampton.
