Tuesday 25th October

Congratulations to even lower handicap sandpiper Tony Davis (now playing off 2) with his winning 39 points.
John Dixon's powers of persuasion have resulted in the rough in front of the tees being clipped down to a more reasonable height and helped him to also score 39 points.
Twenty two players turned out including bionic Tommy Neilly.

Web Site

At last I've got round to publishing the AGM minutes and revised rules.
Both are Adobe pdf format and can be viewed at http://www.sunside.co.uk/sandpipers/constitution.htm
If you have Adobe Reader installed, just clicking on the link should open the file. If not, the appropriate link to install it is on the page.
I've left the 2011 fixtures intact until next year's lists are finalised.

Terry Stubbs ended a two year drought with a 37 points win in near perfect weather conditions.
Tony Davis came second with 36 points.
I hear that John Gibson is making progress after his recent hip operation and Tommy Neilly continues to improve despite an infection setback.

Appleby Match Result

The forecast showers held off and a good day was had by all.
Good food, good company and a good 2.5 - 5.5 stuffing off the Appleby team on their own turf.
Captain of the Day Mike Mapleton was gracious in defeat.

Tuesday 4th October

Trying conditions put a damper on the final competition of the year which was played in its proper format thanks to the generosity of Geoff Waite volunteering to mark the card of the odd couple (!!!).
Joe Holmes and Mike Mapleton won the Brindley Salver with an incredible 42 points, five ahead of Eddie Varah and myself.
One important decision to be agreed at the AGM was that anyone who puts their ball into the draw is liable for the £1 entry fee as all cards from stableford competitions are eligible for the winnings, even if not all eighteen holes are completed.
The minutes of the AGM and amended rules will be published in due course.
Most prize winners were in attendance and presented with their trophies by retiring Trevor Wilson who was congratulated for his organising skills at the Seniors Open.
