Flaming June went out with heavy showers and a squally wind that proved too much for some of the 16 competitors. Trevor Wilson and Joe Campbell were made of sterner stuff and recorded scores of 36 and 32 points respectively.
Owing to an odd number turning up on Tuesday 28th, the Terry Walters competition reverted to an ordinary stableford in calmer conditions, Roger Cutts winning with 40 points and David Barnes second with 36.

Congratulation to Joe on his excellent team selection skills that resulted in a 6 - 2 victory.
The day did its best to deteriorate but conditions remained reasonable throughout.
Octavia prepared another excellent meal without any help from David who was away enjoying himself at Kirkby Lonsdale GC.

Colville Park

The date for this trip has been rearranged owing to a mix up with their junior open competition.
The new date is Wednesday August 3rd.

Another reasonable day spoiled by heavy showers and the conditions were reflected in the results.
Tom Neilly pipped Geoff Waite on count back with both having 32 points.

22 Sandpipers started out, 21 finished.

Weather: Sunny / rain / thunder & lightning. Fortunately the lightning was far enough past us not to be a threat.

1st Grant Anderson 45 pts  H/c 20 to 13.

20 pts out with no score on 9th & 25 pts back with a 6 on 18th.

2nd Roy Williams  39 pts  H/c 8 to 5.

Owing to Norweb undertaking some works, Appleby GC are unable to provide either bar or catering for our match on the 14th. The match will be arranged for some future date.
