36 turned out on a balmy day to enjoy a round in near perfect conditions. Everyone managed to get off within our allocated hour but those at the tail end were worried about getting in before the light failed.
Les Heyes was man of the match with his 41 points and the appropriate 5 shot handicap reduction. David Allison was second.

Tuesday 27th October
In conditions officially classified as fair, Tom Neilly took full advantage to amass 39 points and take the pot. Jim (Zippy) Gilfillan was second. Once again slow play spoiled the day for those at the back of the field, although on this occasion it seems to have been caused by one individual, and worse still, done on purpose.

Thursday 22nd October
David Barnes continued his run of form with 37 points, leading the field of 32 Sandpipers. David Allison's 36 points claimed 2nd place and a 2 stroke penalty !!!
A reminder to all Sandpipers that subscriptions became due at the AGM (if you don't believe me check the constitution on our web site). Although the final date for compliance is a while off, it would help our Treasurer if the money came in sooner than later, and don't forget - there is a waiting list for membership.

Sandpipers' AGM
At last I've found time to update our website with details of our 2009 AGM.
A full record of what transpired is published including the Minutes, Secretary's report and amendments to the Constitution.
You can access it via the link in the margin and is well worth bookmarking because although it's quiet now, details of all Sandpiper events will be published there.

Tuesday 20th October
15 Sandpipers defied (or didn't hear) the weather forecast and were rewarded with a dry, although breezy, afternoon.
Mike Mapleton easily took the pot with 39 points, 4 ahead of David Barnes and was duly rewarded (punished).
For once Terry Stubbs couldn't get a word in to announce the result as the ladies had the prize giving for their 'white elephant' competition at the same time.

Thursday 15th October
From the notice board I see that Richard Brogden took pole position with 41 points and Malcolm Donald joining him on the podium with 2 points less. Handicaps were cut by 5 and 3 shots respectively.

Tuesday 13th October
Lovely autumn weather which meant 32 Sandpipers turned out.
Joe Donlan scored 37 points to take first place with Tom Neilly runner up.
Jim Gilfillan deserves special mention for using his buggy like a dodgem and rear ending Tony Davis twice!
Thursday, 1 October 2009
28 Sandpipers turned up to enjoy probably the most benign weather of the year so far. Four turned in scores of 38 points with Terry Stubbs' better back 6 relegating Stuart Jones to second place.
Good to see our Geordie friend back in the fold again and also the County team selector recording 34 points off his 2 handicap.
