Joe Holmes was a clear winner today with 38 points and John Gibson second with the best back nine of the four 34s.
A couple of championship ties were played and a timely reminder that three first round ties are still to be played. We have a busy diary for the next couple of months so make sure both you and your opponent are available to play before 31st June

Tuesday 28th April

A bruising wind for the seventeen trying to win the George Doughty Trophy and the last two groups were caught in a heavy shower. Bob Finlinson's 34 points with 20 back pipped Geoff Waite.
Sorry to report that Peter Hetherington has been hospitalised for the past month and neither Roger Cutts or Clive Milburn have recovered sufficiently to join in yet.

Thursday 23rd April

Only thirteen played in today's bright and breezy conditions. Harry Wright won with 37 points followed by David Barnes with 36 (21 on the back nine).

Thursday 16th April

Twenty one played in today's Stableford with four opting to play their first qualifying round instead.
Conditions were ideal and until Ivor Nelson came in the top five scores were hard to separate.
His 37 points won and John Dixon was 'best of the rest'.
Next Tuesday is the John Cooper competition, with drawn pairs adding their individual scores to decide the winners. As we play off full handicap the scores go into the computer for club handicap adjustment.

Brian Armstrong Update

Brian's been checked out at Carlisle and the damage appears to be a broken wrist and facial abrasions. I'm informed that his good lady is hoping to have him back home today.
